My Journey so far…

Soon after college, having studied Mechanical engineering and Product Design, and wanting to work in the field of design, I set up my own studio where I designed and created prototypes of various products.

Not knowing how to sell my products, I joined a fast paced business development team where interacting with people from diverse backgrounds day in and day out gave me the opportunity to learn how to communicate effectively.

This made me realize there is much to learn in the field of design which led me to work as a Product Design Engineer with veteran Product Designers, and Mechanical Engineers who taught me to see design as the combination of Business, Technology, Art and Psychology.

After having taught myself User-Centered Design, moved to an EdTech to work as a Product Design Manager managing a team of two other designers. Got the opportunity to work in Learning Experience Design, Designing for XR (AR/VR), and even Organizational Design.

My love for video games wanted me to explore Game Design, so co-founded a gaming studio and launched 2 mobile games. The games however failed to meet the user needs and after several failed experiments and iterations, the team grew impatient and restless only to disband.

Having experience building and shipping products, I was approached by a founder to help build a language-learning platform. Later went on to become the co-founder of the same venture and continued helping the venture with building their product. After a short run, the changing market needs posed an issue to the scalability and viability of the product in the long term causing the team to focus on other projects.

Took up an offer to lead a Product team to build a Personal Knowledge Management tool. Understood the importance of agile working here and when, why and how to pivot your product’s offerings.

Was offered a Senior UX designer position at a famous design studio and took up the opportunity to explore the studio part of the industry where I also established a physical product design cell.

However, around this time was diagnosed with chronic depression and due to my declining mental health, was advised to take a sabbatical. This led me to travel across the country, become a Certified Yoga Teacher and learn different forms of meditation to manage my mental health.
